President's Message

BIG CHANGES FOR FTBA IN 2014!!

Our updated website and smart phone app is FINALLY here! The Fort Thomas Business Association has undergone a face lift. We have a new logo and most importantly a more fine-tuned focus on how to help you grow and stay connected. Our priority is YOU and we have stepped up what we can offer you in technology and resources. Our core value remain the same

To promote the success and growth of our members and improve community involvement through: strategic and collective marketing efforts; business to business networking and educational opportunities.

We will support this mission through:

Networking & Camaraderie
– FTBA offers many different platforms for you to meet and mingle with various member businesses throughout the year.

Events include: breakfast and evening networking events, summer social, annual soiree and annual golf outing

The FTBA website will include a member blog for businesses to share ideas, talk about issues, post questions for fellow members to help and support.

Professional Development – FTBA will organize training sessions, workshops, panel discussions and educational meetings on various business topics such as marketing and sales, social media, human resource management, financial management, merchandising, networking and more!

In 2014 Nanette Polito, Director of Training and Mentoring of the Referral Institute, will be hosting a monthly Lunch and Learn. Sign up for the entire series or just for the topics you choose. Topics include goal setting, networking, business image. David Clegg from the Social Sherpa will host workshops on how to market through technology (Facebook, My Fort Thomas, Twitter etc).

The FTBA website will offer professional development through the blog, articles, posts by experts on technology, coaching etc.

Marketing & Advertising- FTBA has developed a website and an app for smartphones called My Fort Thomas that will be the one spot for all that is happening in 41075. The school district and the city are participating. There will be a community calendar so residents and visitors in one click will know all that is available in our city. This website and app will allow businesses to reach residents and visitors as well as fellow members. The website and app will be functional by 4th quarter and we will be spend the remainder of 2013 filling it with renewal businesses and new businesses. We plan to start aggressively marketing it to residents and visitors by end of 1st quarter 2014 or as soon as it is “full” of businesses. The app will be available for Iphones initially then once we know the needed edits we will update and push out to Android as well. We expect the Android app to come well before end of 2nd quarter. The sooner we can get the first one out, the sooner we can get feedback for final edits! FTBA will also have advertising opportunities in all meetings/events we hold and community events My Fort Thomas sponsors. FTBA will spotlight members, host ribbon cuttings for new businesses, and promote members in a newsletter.

Sponsorship Opportunities – FTBA will provide sponsorship opportunities at all networking and professional development events. Sponsoring an FTBA event is a great way to gain valuable exposure for your business, all the while supporting events that help the FTBA promote the Ft. Thomas business community.

My Fort Thomas will sponsor many events (such as Independence Day (the parade and festival), Merchants and Music, Summer Concert Series, FTBA Annual Golf Outing, Holiday Walk/Hop, Jack O’ Lantern Walk, and Walk Fort Thomas). Depending on the purchased membership level, members will be given advertising and booth opportunities. The focus is to promote members and bring awareness and usage of the My Fort Thomas app to residents and visitors.

Community Engagement - The My Fort Thomas website and mobile app will connect Ft. Thomas citizens to FTBA businesses and events/activity within our community. MyFortThomas is an all encompassing mobile tool that overlaps and communicates business and event information for all things happening within the 40175 zip code for businesses, homes, education, worship, recreation, arts & culture, points of interest, history and government/city.

We look forward to connecting and growing with you in 2014!
